AfOR response to Defra consultation: transposition of the Industrial Emissions Directive (2010/75/EU)

Defra invited views on the transposition of the industrial emissions Directive (2010/75/EU). This Directive "recasts” seven existing Directives: those on integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC), large combustion plants, waste incineration, activities using organic solvents and three on titanium dioxide production.

As its name indicates, the Industrial Emissions Directive requires a wide range of industrial activities to be regulated so as to protect the environment from possible harm from their emissions. This consultation will therefore be of particular interest to those who operate those industrial activities, and to those who are interested in how those activities are regulated.

The consultation closed on 6 June 2012. To respond directly, please contact  David Demain Control.Pollution@defra.gsi.gov.uk; or email rppmailbox@wales.gsi.gov.uk if in Wales.

Please read HERE AfOR's response to this consultation.

The consultation letter and other relevant documents can be found here: http://www.defra.gov.uk/consult/2012/03/12/industrial-emissions-1203/

More details on the sections relevant to the biowaste industry will come soon on this web page.

AfOR will respond to the Consultation on behalf of its members. If you wish to provide your feedback, please contact Kiara (Kiara@organics-recycling.org.uk, 07717294793).
