AfOR appoints Certification Bodies for its Compost Certification Scheme
AfOR is delighted to announce that after a competitive tendering exercise, Organic Farmers and Growers (OF&G) and NSF-CMi Certification Ltd, have been re-appointed to fulfil this essential service as the independent site auditors and assessors of companies who are seeking to achieve certification to PAS 100 and the Compost Quality Protocol (CQP).
Emphasis was requested by AfOR that there should be particular cost benefits provided to smaller operators who have in the past complained that PAS 100 is too costly to engage in. The new proposed fee structures from the two successful applicants provide this assurance, which AfOR hope will encourage smaller operators to seek certification in the future
AfOR’s Senior Technical Officer Dr Kiara Zennaro said ’We are delighted to continue working with the existing two certification bodies who we are confident will continue to provide an effective and timely service to companies seeking certification to PAS 100 and the CQP. AfOR is keen to ensure that the quality ethos of PAS 100 is maintained in order that markets for quality compost can be expanded in the future’.
