Consultation on the development of SEPA PPC Technical Guidance Note 35 – Anaerobic Digestion

Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has published a draft on Technical Guidance on what it considers to be the best available technique (BAT) for the anaerobic digestion of waste. It concerns not only PPC facilities but also those which fall under the Waste Management Licensing Regulations 1994 (as amended). Although SEPA does not intend to apply this guidance to the offsite storage of digestate, elements of it may be regarded as best practice. When finalised, the guidance will be used by operators when applying for an authorisation to operate and SEPA officers when determining applications.

Consultation deadline: 27th July 2012
