Regulations that transpose the Industrial Emissions Directive have been published for England and Wales
Defra has announced the publication of regulations that transpose the EU's Industrial Emmissions Directive into legislation applicable in England and Wales, in the form of amendments to the Environmental Permitting regulations.
The Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 (SI 2013 No. 390) are now available at:
They were made on 20 February 2013 and enter force in accordance with their regulation 2, that is to say, for the most part from 27 February 2013. Their principal purpose is to transpose the EU's Industrial Emissions Directive (2010/75/EU).
An unofficial consolidation of a substantial part of the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010 as amended by these regulations will imminently be placed at http://www.defra.gov.uk/industrial-emissions/eu-international/industrial-emissions-directive.
The finalised "Part A” guidance will very soon be placed at http://www.defra.gov.uk/environment/quality/permitting/ .
