SEPA are consulting on proposals to amend their charging schemes

SEPA have issued a consultation on their charging schemes which cover waste activities, these include proposals that Waste (including waste exemptions) charges are increased by 7.7% in April 2014 and again in April 2015.

They are also consulting on changes to the Pollution Prevention & Control (PPC) charging scheme. The current PPC charging scheme was constructed in accordance with the PPC 2000 Regulations. These are mainly structural changes made necessary by implementation of the Pollution Prevention and Control (Scotland) Regulations 2012 which introduced some new installations to regulation and amended and deleted others. The new Regulations also consolidated and amended other sets of regulations.

Full details of both consultations can be found HERE. Responses directly to SEPA by 17th February. If you would like to contribute to the REA response, please email you comments to Jenny by 10th February.
