Date:  23/10/2014
Location: Edinburgh Marriott Hotel, 111 Glasgow Rd, Edinburgh EH12 8NF.

The Organics Recycling Group in conjuction with REAL is running a one day course in Edinburgh focused on the basics of composting and PAS 100 requirements for beginners. There is a site visit to one of Forth Resource Management's PAS100 certified composting sites included as part of the day.

The course will include an introduction to the composting process (covering feedstocks, processing, composting techniques, process controls) alongside an introduction to PAS100 (the principles, quality management systems and how the certification scheme works) as well as a practical, site-based session that will give delegates some useful background knowledge.

The course is targeted at the composter’s personnel who are involved in the composting process and play a role in the PAS100 PAS 100 Quality Management System process. For example, personnel:

• who are carrying out the inspections on the input materials;
• responsible for product preparation;
• responsible for monitoring and controlling the composting process;
• responsible for dispatching/selling the compost product/s;

In addition, the course is also open to anyone else who is interested to understand the basics of composting and the basic requirements of PAS 100 and the REAL Compost Certification Scheme.
