Defra consultation on waste crime and proposals to enhance enforcement powers at regulated facilities

Defra are seeking views on enhancing enforcement powers and other measures to tackle waste crime and persistent poor performance in England and Wales.

They want to know what you think about their proposals to enhance enforcement powers for the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and local authorities. They are also asking for evidence on a range of measures to tackle waste crime and persistent poor performance in the waste management industry.

Views from the call for evidence will inform future proposals to bring about a level playing field for the legitimate waste industry. This includes encouraging growth through investment.
