About Envar Composting Ltd:
Envar are the owner and operator of one of the UK’s largest In Vessel Composting (IVC) facilities which is part of the ADAS Group of Companies (www.adas.uk). The site processes co-mingled food and garden waste on behalf of local authorities, with an annual licence limit of over 100,000 tonnes. There has been substantial investment in the past two to three years, with c. £8m spent on best-in-class Gicom composting tunnels (facility has 9 in total with a total throughput capacity of 135-145,000 tonnes per annum) and a Kiverco screening system (maximum capacity of 55 tonnes per hour).

Significant scope exists for further development at the site (facility only currently uses c. 9 hectares of a c. 18 hectare site). It is an ideally located site, with no dwellings in the immediate vicinity and open farmland on all sides.

PAS 100 compost currently goes to agricultural land as a source of crop nutrients.  The site holds a number of key accreditations and certifications, including ISO9001, ISO14001, PAS100 and an Animal By-Products Regulations (ABPR) licence. The business is currently for sale, with the sale being handled by BCMS Corporate (www.bcmscorporate.com) and is expected to take another 3-4 months

The visit to the site will give members of the Organics Recycling Group the opportunity to see this state-of-the-art plant in operation.
