WAMITAB

The Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) ensure employees from the waste industry have the needed skills and competence to develop and maintain practices for the benefit and safety of both the operatives and public.
WAMITAB offer the following qualifications:

• NVQs
• VRQs
• Skills for life
• EPOC

Competence is another primary area for WAMITAB, both Defra and WAG have approved the joint WAMITAB/CIWM Operator Competence Scheme, more information can be found HERE.

WAMITAB has also produced a number of guidance documents to assist operators in determining the appropriate awards and pathways to demonstrate current and future competence arrangements. These include the provision to ensure Continuing Competence is met.
